I picked this little cichlid up at a local LFS. They couldn't tell me what he/she was. When I asked they said," A South AMERICAN Cichlid!" As though I was only asking them because I hadn't heard the first time. Any help would be appreciated.

looks like a juvie midas to me!
will loose the baring and turn orangey colour when maturing at about 5"+

Hello! nice cichlid. I'm not sure what kind, but it look's like a possible central american, from what i see. maybe another photo, and more heads for input could help. anyway, nice specimen, goodluck on ID, and enjoy your new find!
