I think it may be a weed? I collected it years ago when started my first tank and collected the local anacharis&hornwort that grows off the seawall of my house [I live on the Hillsborough River in FL]
This thing grows rapidly in runners and my fish love it and I love it, and have to admit I don't care if it ends up being a weed, it makes a lovely neon-green, lush low, mid, to high growth depending on pruning. I troll my river every day, and have never seen another one since.
