Thats a bumble bee cichlid. Its an african. They can be pretty aggressive. If i remember right they dont get.much over 7".

Maybe just as long as you got big enough tank, and i would give some caves only he can get in as your fh gets larger. I kept one years ago with some central americans everything was fine till he tried to fight with a red devil, you know how that turned out.

The tank is a 75 i have clay pots in there for him that i just got from the store and im working on convincing my wife to allow me to buy a 300 semi circle tank.

I think you might be good just keep an eye on things. As always bigger will be better so upgrade and get sone more to go with them.

That is a "bumblebee" mbuna or Metriaclima (Pseudotropheus?) crabro. Probably one of the meanest Lake Malawi (African) cichlids around. It will eventually destroy your JD and Flowerhorn...

I made the decision to adopt him out my fh has a spot in my heart i adopted it because it has a bum tail but is still nasty as hell. I cant risk anything happening to it.
