Thanks for the quick replies. I was looking for something different for a 125g but after some reading on the forums it looks like I'll have to pass on these guys. The sudden death around 2yrs just seems odd.

Plenty of people have kept the, for longer.. Maybe look at it as a challenge lol

So doing some reading it seems like scombs can go with anything that isn't overly aggressive, to small to eat and to big to eat it. Are there any other fish to avoid keeping with scombs? Can they be kept together?

Schools always do well. No aggressive tankmates. But bichirs go well. Large Bala Sharks and tinfoil barbs are ok. SD's are ok as well.

You get the idea.

In a 125 a school of 4-6 scombs with 6 tiger silver dollars and 2 bichers would look cool
