picking this fish up from someone on craigslist this afternoon...just wondering what it is..the lady isnt sure

idk y i am probibly very wrong but i kinda want to say male livingstonii... though just a guess cuz of the blue face malawis arnt my forte
Due to color and what I can see from the face/lips I think it is a maturing male Nimbochromis fuscotaeniatus (aka Fusco). Not the greatest pic, and I am not an expert at IDing - especially with Haps (better with mbuna), but that is my guess.

my first guess was fusco also....i friend said polystigma and another said vc10...lol...im picking him up after work today and ill get some better pics so we can figure it out
Is that a picture of the same fish?!!! Looks completely different, but I would agree with livingstoni.
yeah he hasnt settled in yet...he colors up for a few then goes back to blotches...once he settles in and colors back up good ill get more pics
Definitely N. livingstoni. I love those fish, they're beautiful and their hunting technique is very interesting.
yeah hes been a littled stunted....will he grow normal now ya think? he was in a 55g ever since he was 3 inches and the water quality didnt look to good. i hope he isnt stunted permanent.
