Stopped into one of my favorite fish stores today and came across this strange looking cichlid. Ask Tim the shop keeper to scoop him up so I could get him ID'ed. What do you think this little guys is? Below are some other pictures of the fish Tong's current has in stock and they do ship just need to call and speak with Tim.

OMG i have seen one before But i forget the name OMG! i cant believe it It'll come to me in a while :L
 
I heard they can get up to 18 inches
 
looks like either zonatus or hartwegi to me I have both and they look very similar as juvies
 
It's a juvenile Paratheraps species. They all look almost identical when smaller so you'll have to grow it out for a positive identification.

Agreed...gonna be a few months before you'll be able to get an idea. I think we could go ahead and rule out syspilus and melanarus.
 
So it's safe to say at 6 bucks a pop this is a good deal.
