ID help with my Flowerhorn.

I got this guy at petsmart for 2 bucks they had him miss marked as usual. I couldn't believe 2 bucks though. Idk much about flowerhorns, does this one look good what's the best way to tell if he has good genes?

What a steal! He looks to have potential for a water kok. Just feed him a high quality pellet and keep his water pristine. Nice pick up!

Thanks for the info... I'm feeding him hikari gold sinking pellets. He will only mouth them and spit them out. I have had him about two weeks he has only eaten feeders and mealworms, both about once a week split up. Any ideas why he won't eat the pellets all the other fish do? Thanks again...

He is used to eating live food. Youll have to strave him for a day or two. Then he will eat the pellets. Also u shouldnt feed him feeders or live worms, they can carry parasites and spread them to your flowerhorn leading to diseases and possibily death. Pellets as a stable and market shrimp, frozen blood worms as a trear are best.
