These little guys are currently 1-2mm, scattered all over the walls of one of my tanks. They are clear, slimy, and gelatinous. They do not react when touched like Hydrozoa. I am sure they are not hydra(I have had hydra in tanks before). These little guys appear to be completely innocuous. Their branches have what look like leaves(moss like in appearance). I believe they are a type of algae but I have been unable to find any similar examples online. Any help in identifying these is greatly appreciated.

They appear to be hydra and should be eradicated. They can sting like jelly fish. Google for some images and see if that is what they are

Thx for the response but they are not hydra.

Lol, yeah thats it. No, these things will not react to any stimulus, they are plant like. They just sway in the current, touch them and there is no reaction, they are not predatory........this behavior is the exact opposite of hydrozoa.

Planaria!

Sorry, I had to be the first person to say it.

Do they eat like hydra? There is a chance, they could be a different species related to hydra that are not the common species.

I'm guessing some type of algae as well, although I really dont know, kind of interesting though, I'm in a algae course in a few month so maybe I'll be able to narrow it down for you then, lol
