Hello
I have already made a thread related to the identification of this cichlid , reason for this new thread is that now I have tried to get some better pictures with improved lighting , the fish is at LFS , my second reason for starting a new thread is that already there has been a little confusion in my previous thread which already contains 21 replies , that is why I decided to start a new thread. Thanks in advance

Its a texas based hybrid.

Agreed maybe texas x mayan or festea given the reddish tint and eye spot but no way of really telling.

I see mayan×carpintis maybe with some Jd mixed in

Nothing wrong with a hybrid. Some nice looking hybrids out there.

There's nothing wrong with a hybrid, as long as they are represented as such when being sold.

True.

OP just some advice for the future. The flash is your enemy when trying to ID a fish or get any pic of a fish. best way to get a pic is turn off the lights in the room. Turn on the light on the tank. no flash

The problem being, Justin, is this fish was not represented as such.

It seems lately that the CA section is slowly merging with the hybrid section. A lot of junk fish being passed off as something that they most definitely are not.
