Hi all--
The tank is a 125, heavily planted with Amazon Swords. XP3 and XP4, as well as a surface skimmer. Play sand as substrate, and lots of driftwood.

The current fish:
2x Large Angelfish
6x 2-3 inch Clown Loaches
11x Assorted Corys
9x Cardinal Tetras
11x Penguin Tetras
10x Rummynose Tetras
5x Silver Hatchets
3x Marbled Hatchets

Would you recommend a small school (5 to 6) of Synodontis nigriventris? Does anyone see any problems with the other fish, especially the Loaches or the Corys?

I currently feed Freshwater Frenzy and Hikari Micro Wafers, and also Algae Wafers and Shrimp pellets once the lights are off to make sure the Corys get enough to eat. Would I need to feed anything different?

Thanks!

Are they very outgoing? The things I've read say that they like to hang around underneath leaves and driftwood, but I'm not sure if that means they're moving around, eating and stuff, or that they're just there all the time, hiding in the wood!

Really... hmmm then it sounds better than I thought! I was worried they'd find a nice place to hide and I'd never see them again. Do you think six is a good number? I know the tank sounds pretty minimally stocked, but I was kind of leaving some room so I can keep the Loaches in there for a few years, and these guys supposedly grow to four inches. Do you agree with that size, or do they usually stay smaller?

My lfs had a couple that were 4 inches but mine stayed more around three to three and a half. And you've got plenty of time, Clown loaches grow very very slowly!

I KNOW sometimes I don't think they're growing at all! I'm so impatient haha.

I think I might get a group and start QTing them next weekend. Thanks for your help!

my lfs had 3 of them that in the store they where there for so long they where about 7to 8 in

They like to be kept in groups, (as you already have found out). I´d be worried abouth the tetras, not your loaches or cories.
