the small black dot near its upper fin, is it the mark if it is a female?

it is a 3-1/2 inches young FH so i gotta zoom the pic..

Looks male to me. The dot your talking about will be right on the dorsal fin not the upper back

I have a male with dorsal spots like crazy just as a female would. Some males get it. If my male was a female with the hump he has I would be selling it for double.

Some "natural" Central American cichlids get a dark spot in the dorsal fin, which is female trait.
Because you are dealing with hybrids all normal indicators are null and void, except venting.
