Hi MFKers!

I'm out here in Southern Gabon and I stumbled upon this cute little guy.
I know he's a python but what kind exactly.

I'd like to keep him unless u guys advise against it. he's about 16inches long and is quite calm and does not mind being handled.

I'm no snake expert but I want to say that it's an African Rock Python (Python sebia).

Yep, thats an AF rock....can rival a Burmese python in size, and a WC retic in temperment.

He's pretty cool, you on holiday or something... just your location says england, and so I guess if you were to keep it with you it wouldn't be for long anyway. Thanks for the pics though.

no i work out here as a zootechnician on a cattle ranch but live in London

Ah i see. Well, you'll have to have an area for him to bask so he can thermo-regulate. Not sure what their average diet is at that age in the wild, but I can't see it passing up a gecko... Looks like a beautiful place to be. I'd be tempted to put him back after a while.

great snake..why don't you put him back...looks like he had a great place to live..

After seeing that pic of the adult's teeth, I'd say put him back! Looks really skinny though. Very cool snake!!!
