I was wondering if anyone knows what kind this is? He is my favorite fish. I was told he is a red devil. But I have never really seen one up close

It seems that most "Midas" or "red devils" in the hobby today are actually hybrids between the two.
so I guess trying to breed him would be a no no. He is aggressive, but today I was putting his filter back together (again) this seem to be a daily thing and thank god he just touched me with his mouth. He is 12 inches is that to big to even get him a mate?
You could always breed him through a egg crate divider. But the effort and time wouldn't be worth trying, especially since you'll have a hard time selling the fry.
ok thanks for the tip I guess he will just stay my big boy. I will stick with trying to find (buy) a great flowerhorn. Which is turning out to be task here in Texas.
