Could someone please id these mbuna I recently picked up. Sorry for the pic quality, I used the cell phone cam.

The first one is definitely a red zebra and most probably a male (I tried to pick out the most pale orange to white with the most "egg spots" out of the tank):

This one I'm not sure about, it kinda looks like an acei, but not really, the tail and part of fins is brown, the body is purple with darker stripes:

The second looks like more of a peacock but I'm not entirly sure it is definatly not an acei I rasied them and that doesnt like them they dont have the vertical stripes like that.

I'll try to take better pix with a dig. cam. But yea the vertical stripes and brown on its tail and fins doesn't resemble the coloration of an acei (it just looks closer to an acei than the rest of mbuna I've seen). I know for sure it is not a peacock, doesn't have the face of one. I'll post better pictures in a few.

can't say . . too young to exactly ID . . in the first pic I also thought that it was a peacock, but the second set of pics makes me wanna go pseudotrophes of some sort . . not sure of acei though . . i think you should wait for a month or so . . try taking a few pics without flash just with the tank lights . . good luck

yeah i agree with the above posters about the acei--i have 2 in my 180 and they look nothing like what you have. the first one does look like a red zebra.

Ok ibr3ak... I still am going to need better shots than that.
Some tips. Focus your camera on a rock that is the right distance away. Then get a shot, with flash (tilt your camera near the glass so the reflection isn't in the shot). I really want a good shot with his head. I think he is a mbuna now, but I still have struck out, and if I know his mouth it might help.

Now the newest one is a Metriaclima lombardoi, aka Kenyi. I think (could be wrong) it is a male starting to turn since I don't think the females show quite that much yellow.

Thanks alot all for the replies. :)

ikevi thank you for the advice, just hard to focus on a fish when it's darting back and forth, but I will try to take a few hundred more shots tonight :). The last pic I also thought was a kenyi just wanted to make sure.

straitjacketstar yep that's what his face and nose looks like.
