look like melanochromis johanni to me-but id wait for more ppl to say, im not good at id'ing africans really well yet. males are blue with royal or light blue barring, females are orange. buggers can be aggressive and get to 4-5 inches. i have owned a few johanni's in the past and they were mean little things lol

lets see what everyone else says..

see what i mean? lol. also, does one of them has a yellow stripe along its top fin? (or it looks like it in the first pic).my johanni were a really dark blue-i only had 2 and they didnt last long in my tank. i just figured they were johanni mixes-i dont know what else they could be..

come on pros! help this guy id his fish! lol

straitjacket-i originally said johanni's also, because they sortof look like the ones i had, but mine were much darker. im assuming also these are johanni hybrids.. they are so light looking..

One can hardly find any pure johannii type in the hobby anymore.
Unless they come from a reputable source with location as wild, F1, F2 or line bred from someone who keeps their lines positively clean one can assume most out there have some M. johannii, M. interruptus, M. cyanoerhabdos and/or P. elongatus in them.
