They are 1.5-2" and were sold as surinamensis. After Some research I found that geos are often mislabeled as surinamensis. Any help would be appreciated. There are 5 of them in a 4x2x2 120g.
I was thinking either dicrozoster (based on the bars that are visible in some pictures) or altifrons, but I'm thinking altifrons based on the small mid-lateral spot as abarilot said, as well as the lack of a preopercular mark.
Like said earlier, they are hard to type when they are so small. but I will agree, they look like altifrons to me. my avatar is of my altifron and notice the red and spots only on her fin. The pictures that you posted look to have the same features. surinamensis is they go to label local fish stores go to when they get geos in, but 10 times out of 10 they are not real suri's. Altifrons are very beautiful and you will be happy with the colors they produce when they become bigger.
