ID my little Gar

Hey frnds,.. i've just joined yesterday on this greate forum, but got lots of interesting infos before reg.
I've pair of 7-8 inch Gars, and LFS told it's Alligators Gar.. It is an A.Gar or other? (Sorry about pic's quality)

1 Red Bellied Pacu
4 Red Tilapia

Another question,
1 gar is bit long,fat and upper side dark brownish, and other is very slim,shorter and upper side is brown. Is that male and female?

It's a gator and be careful they will snap at silver colored fish

Be prepared for some big gars; those little guys will be monsters in no time at all. They also have a tendency to kill most other tankmates, so I would remove the other fishes.

Another question,
1 gar is bit long,fat and upper side dark brownish, and other is very slim,shorter and upper side is brown. Is that male and female?

It is impossible to determine a gar's gender externally at this size.

nice little gator lol but it wont be small for long they grow extremly fast good luck with your monster
