ID my new baby

I cant remember what the label at the lfs was, and not even sure it would have been right, so could someone help me with an ID on my new baby poly.
It's about 3"
Also, is it possible to sex them at this size?
(He's lumpy cause it was just dinner time)

Polypterus senegalus. That's the only species I've seen stocked in LFS that I've been to.

Narrow anal fin...

you can tell the sex by the size of the anal fin. it's larger and more mascular on the male. and it still too small to accurately sex yet. wait till it gets to around 5-6" or so.

Anal fin for all polypterus species. Still looks small though, 3 inches or so?

Yeah, that's why I was wondering how they were sexing it, since it is only about 3" still. I just got it a few days ago. What's the growth rate for them?
