Sun or eclipse cat.

Definitely a sun/eclipse cat. I've got one... really shy cat. Only eats at night but loves bloodworms and shrimp. Mine likes to float next to drift wood at odd angles so I always think it's dead... little bugger

Looks like Horabagrus Brachysoma (Gunthers / golden red-tail cat etc), if it is they are beautiful when bigger but IMO the most boring beggers ever when small cos you dont see them.
I've seen a thread like this before with a similar cat and a full body pic was required for a positive ID as there are a couple of species with that dot .

Nice find though and if it is the Horabagrus I think they get about 20"ish

Sun catfish

I got one not so long ago, smaller than yours.
Really shy, almost don't see him eating and sometimes he really looks like dead.
But a nice fish, with some nice colors

What they said

not a bad cat i have 3 two that are 2''-3'' and 1 thats 5'' pretty cool cat they like to hide alot but will come out once they get use to the tank will eat all sorts of stuff and they eat alot of it too

I had one with no hiding spots and he got around quit a bit and ate a ton. Only grew about 3" in the 6 months I had him though. Don't think I've ever heard of one over 12" in aquariums, but they do get to 18"+ in the wild.
