Finally found me a large enough poly to not be eaten by my bass. This guy is about 12 inches in length I'd say, and this is my first poly so its time to become a member of a new fish keeping sub-community I guess, lol. Could you please tell me what he is?

Thanks

Great news! That's what I thought but hadn't had the time to do a proper ID before I bought him. I'm pumped that I got one!

would realy like to get my hands on one of those all i can seem to find is the grey bichir.did pick up a baby bichir yesterday only about 3-4 inches long hes a little picky about what he eats. cant say that about my 10 incher if it fits in the mouth its gone.

I got him and a 7 inch indo dat for 100 for the both. I got them as soon as they came in at the lfs and didn't really give anybody time to see what they had or someone else to buy them. I don't know if this was a good deal, but for Houston it was. You know those cali people can get anything for pennies though...

Edit: Err just reread your first post. Toyin is probably the biggest importer of wild caught Bichirs in the states...

Umm you know Toyin is in Houston right?

Without the shipping cost you can score some really nice Bichirs from him.
