Id my Pike please

I have had this guy for about 2 years. awesome fish just want to know more about him.

Well, its a female type of Saxatilis pike. It has the look of Crenicichla lucius. Looks gorgeous for sure!

thanks Peanut! when she eats she gets darker and the red on her belly and fins is really pronounced. i have been looking for info but havent ever come up with anything definite.

Don't quote me 100% on it, as I really don't like IDing Saxatilis pikes! They are a tad bit more tricky. . .

kinda has the look of a lucius. the whiteness by the humeral blotch is making me lean against lucius tho. as peanut said, saxatilis pikes are a pain to id. i think there are still alot of unidentified ones and not alot of info on distiguishing the ones that have been identified. thats just my 2 cents.

ive seen a few recently that look like this. it appears yours might be the same.
Crenicichla cf. saxatilis 'Oyapock'

i appreciate your 2 cents haha. i looked at some pics of some lucius and she looks alot like them. so im going go with that for now. btw the pikes in your avatar are beautiful!
