Well!! LoL! Welcome!! It looks like you've got two different species...the first its really hard to tell from that picture, but its a type of Saxatilis pike for sure! ;) The second picture is undoubtedly a variant of Crenicichla johanna. Both are lookin to be females...;)

Thanks for the reply Peanut, here are some more pics I took with flash:

I can't really tell, but from the looks of it... the first pic looks like my Crenicichla proteus (atleast the bottom half hahaha). Do am image search for C. proteus and see if that is your fish. Maybe C. lucius too.

I'm not sure about the C. Proteus, she doesn't have the spots in her dorsal fin, but I agree with C. lusius. I'll try to find males for both of them, but I know this won't be easy.

good looking fish.....First does resemble lucius, 2nd looks like a stressed Cinta cuz of the tail shape and coloring, but I could be wrong.

lucius doesn't have the suborbital marking like yours does. Not a lucius. I am thinking alta or proteus.

good call, very true, they do not. Good eye Pirwhana

Thanks I am getting better at IDing :)

Another problem is her size! She's about 8" and according to the aqualog neither of the other species females reach that size (5-6").
