ID needed for "Supposed" Juruense" Catfish...

Any help would be appreciated in identifying this catfish.

They were brought in as Juruense, but I don't see any bars/stripes that I would normally see on a Juruense. They look more solid in color...then again they are only 3-4".

I would agree with your id Charlie most other brachyplatystoma's show stripes, bars, spots or higher shine when small. Your fish look pretty dark and matte.

Even though they arent jurenese you have a true monster in stock with those vaillantii plantecatfish lists a max avg size of 41.5inches. Don't think you see these to often.

It definitely does not have any markings at all like the juvy juruense in those photos.

So I am definitely leaning toward Flavican or the vallianti variant.

its 100% Brachyplatystoma Flavican a bubby has a small one and it looks exactly like yours
