Hi again, I got this fish for $10. I think it's Central but not too sure what it is. This is super friendly and loves to eat. I started to think it was a tilapia but not sure. It was from a tank that housed topaz cichlids but this and a few others looked like this. Anyone have an idea? If it's a hybrid or not belong here sorry.

Agree with Millingu, and Stiker.
Great fish, mostly vegetarian when mature, they easily hit 16", and will need a minimum 300 gal tank.

They are gentle giants, until they get crowded, and if not given enough space when mature, can get aggressive.
In summer mine could clear the yard of dandelions very quickly, or go thru a large head of romaine lettuce per day
They have a longer digestive tract than omnivores and carnivores to make use of less prevalent nutrients found in veggies.
Below an Xray of their other vegetarian sister species C/ pearsei.

Here is what is commonly called a Topaz Cichlid (Amatitlania mynae), from Costa Rica and Panama, males barely get 1/4 the size of bocourti

Cincelichthys bocourti is from Belize and Guatemala

Yes I have some of these. Weird that I found them in that tank. Usually this store is good but I kept saying it wasn't Topaz. I am quite excited about this pickup. Really settled in quick and so passive but active. Complete opposite of my vieja breidohri lol
