ID? no picture?

I am gunna test your ID skills everyone.
I don't have a picture of the fish but I was at my lfs and I saw a catfish which the guy who was working said it was a channel cat (which it wasn't) the most distinguishing feature was its tail...it didn't have the normal shaped tail, its fin was kind of like how a knifes is. But, it didn't use said fin like a knife would, it swam like a normal fish.
I just saw it dart by so that is all I can give you.
Anyone know what this fish is?

Every picture I see of channel cats does not look like this fish.

The fish in question had a tail like this.

However, it wasn't a knife nor did it move like one...its tail moved back and forth.

No sorry I don't have any photos and I am currently sick as a dog so I won't be able to get one any time soon.

It may be the tandanas I am going by memory right now, and I saw this fish last week so I could be foggy. I will try and get a pic next time, if it comes out of its cave.
