Everyone will be calling it a Mantilla.. - a generic name for a generic scribbled pattern.

I will call it a king royal triple looped jose mantilla willa ray.

However, there is a river location in which Mantilla are harvest, in Brazil. I have also seen a very similar patterned ray be harvest from Colombia, and be given the name Mantilla and/or Flower (Blume), as well as Colombia "Marble" but not of the Motoro variety.

I am amazed at it's mature claspers in comparison to the body size.. scaled vs the return pump and ghost shrimp..

It looks really sick, faded, and chewed up.. If it was a female, I would say quit pimping her out.. but its a male?

I really wonder if the 'Mantillas' are some sort of wild hybrid between a Motoro and the true Argentina Hystrix.. as it's been noted the Argentina Hystrix can have fully developed claspers like that at around 10"..

Where you come from, if it wasn't imported, its would be called an 'SP' (Special) 'CB' (Crossbreed).. right? :D

im from malaysia....but im not sure where dis ray come from as well as their name...i bought over from a fren who give up all his rays as he has no interest in it.....yea, its a male and approx. 10"inch diameter....the clasper look matured....
the rays realy look sick, faded and chewed.....im pumping in more food for him since last week..it look much better now....the chewed is due to the poor way the previous owner take care of it....he seldom feed them, which make them hunger....AND the whole tank with 7 rays, 5 are matured male and 2 are little female ray.....so they bite each other as they live in hunger....
so, what the exact name for this rays?? or else it would be a SP or CB if no name were given to him...:(
i will post up another clearer picture

second pic looks like a different ray........ are both pictures of the same ray?

I think both hybrid sp.
(i know it's cliche and I hate when people say that but you have to know the culture of breeding overseas..)
