I bought this snakehead today it was sold as a Channa Bleheri but after getting it home i'm not 100% sure. As i planned on not getting a massive snakehead it would be good to know.

I had a feeling it was but did not want to say, 6" it must be nearly that now. What size tank would you think for it? I was going to grow it out a bit then put it in a 4ft but i guess it does not need that size.

Sp. Assam and Lal Cheng were just temporary names as they were still being "identified". There are still "unidentified" species that will get new names. The name change was recent and if your looking for info on them, Channa Sp. Assam would be a better name to look under.
I would say that a 30g should be fine. I keep mine in a 75g, only half filled, with Paradise Gouramis, since they are not aggressive and can tolerate the cold periods.
If you have a 4' tank, I would suggest getting some more and maybe trying to breed them.
