That long black and white one? That is a Leporinus sp. There are several species of them that look very similar so I'm nit sure which species it is. The most common species name thrown about is L. fasciatus. Leporinus sp. are not cichlids BTW, they're characiformes.

its a banded leporinus ( leporinus fasciatus) .. ive got one for like 8 months now, it grew from 3" to 11" ish now xD mine isnt aggressive at all, but ive heard most are,so beware... some people recommends to keep it with other cichlid... it eats a lot, but weird enuf, they sometimes go on hunger strike for some reason o.O

hope that helps :)

How big is it. When mine hit the 7-8 inch range it got aggressive, charging and tail slapping tank mates. He's calmed down some but still kicks up a fuss once in a while. Eats anything that hits the bottom, especially greens.

Its a Metriaclima sp. and a red-top type at that but exactly which species, I'm not completely positive as there are several. I don't think it's M. greshakei as M. greshakei shouldn't be so dark in body color and at least some of the dorsal usually has the same icy blue color as on the body. Probably M. pyrsonotos or another similar species.
