Over there
Sorry. I dunno which section this would go in but I just picked up a bunch of smelt for my fish and mixed were a bunch of these guys. Does anyone know what kind of fish this is?ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1429040968.216838.jpg

Are they came from Great Lakes? That looks like a round goby, better feed this first to your fish.

It is illegal to posses round goby, hence feed it to your fish first.

If it`s a goby it would have the suckering fin on the belly, does it? Can`t tell in the pic. Also not likely to catch a goby while netting smelt, commercially. Smelt are normally suspended in deep water and gobies are on the bottum. Could they be alwife?

I'll try and take a pic when I feed them off in a couple days. They're frozen now in my freezer but they could be gobies. They kinda remind me of clown gobies if any of you are familiar with them but I didn't look closely enough to see if that bottom fun was there.

Thaw it out and get a better picture. Look for 2 dorsal fins and a black spot on the first dorsal. It's definitely not an alewife.
