It was labeled as a wolf eel and said it only gets 18 inches.. I looked it up on google and they seemed much larger than 18 inches and looked much different.. IT was 35 dollars and I was also wondering what tank it would need thanks!! The pic is in the link below.

The only Wolf Eel I'm familiar with is Anarrhichthys ocellatus and it is not the one you have pictured. Good luck with the ID!

Its definatly a green wolf eel. $35 is a great price. He will get around 18in so 100gal and up and he would thrive. Very beautiful eel. Nice purchase

No I didnt buy him :) dont have the tank to house him...yet But I was just wondering about him. Thanks for the info.. Also how long could he live in a 72 bow front? or a 55? Hes about 4 inches now. I am interested in eels and this seems like the smallest of the true eels(not spiny).

as I remember these guys grow fairly slow. been awhile since I've delt with one. But they can be extremely aggressive towards tank-mates. If you're looking for other SW eels of small size snowflakes imo can't go wrong by. G Tiles also are fairly small for a true eel. Often sold as a "freshwater moray" but are true brackish/saltwater fish. Both of these species ime are more tolerant of tank-mates then wolfs. So it can depend on if you want tank-mates and if so what kind.
