ID on this Geophagus

Saw it on CL, and thinking about getting. Maybe surinamensis. If so is $20 good.

That's the only pic they had on the add. The guy does not know what kind of geo it is. I guess I will pick it up tomorrow and post more pics. How common are abalios?

IIt looks a little like this one

It is almost certainly Geophagus abalios based on the striped tail, red eyes, and lack of preopercular mark. If you can get a picture of its stress bars when it is settling in, that could confirm.

G. surinamensis have spotted tails

danny2875, the G. sp. "Altamira" you posted has a spotted tail and hazel eyes
