ID on this pleco

im sure its just a common pleco but i finally got a good picture but i was wondering what the number with the L(three digits) was for it and what exactly does that mean?? and what would it be for a rubbernose pleco
 
looks like a nice brown spotted common pleco...

i have to admit.. its great looking..

The L-###'s were originally created to keep track of fish that have not been formerly described. I believe yours is an L-083 pterygoplichthys gibbiceps, or marble sailfin. According to planetcatfish.com the rubbernose pleco does not have a L-#.
