Definitely not Strigata this one is one of the large growing lugubris from the rio orinoco.... Similar to if not the same as a variant of sp. Venezuela. Cool looking fish though

looking around online and your right, I'd guess it is probably Johanna variant or just lug type. I was seeing a lot of strigata in searches, but after reviewing some credible info, strigata is just a name many johanna come in under. While a true strigata looks much different.

This pike ISN'T a johanna variant. It's a lugubris sp. Orinoco similar in appearance and morphologically to sp. Venezuela

True strigata look a bit like rio tapajos marmorata, they have a big humeral blotch and are usually pretty green as well. "Strigata" pikes that usually come in are usually sp. Venezuela haven't heard of them coming in as a johanna sp. but it's possible

Edit: if you're looking for a small pike look elsewhere these guys get big... I'd stay away from lugubris if you're looking for small pikes...

Since you're in Michigan I have a 7inch male inirida I "columbian blood tear" I'm thinking about selling its IMO the best looking saxatilis pike I need to move since I'm running out of space... Don't want to sell because it's Colors easily rival my Cobras and tapajos I red. And easily better than my atabapo Is (still juveniles). Lots of red speckling on its fins and lots of yellow on it pm me if you're interested
