I've had this amazing looking GT for over a year now, I treated him a couple months back for what I thought was dropsy. It seemed to work very well, when I put him back into his original tank he was fiesty and thriving and ready to gorge himself. The past week he hasn't met me in front of tank and eagerily taken pellets, now today he started hiding a touch and when he came out he swimming with a lot of weird body motion. Still has his dorsal standing up but, didn't go after any food and putting his body into swimming. Any ideas?? Thx in advance.... Water conditions are all excellent, well established and filtered 55Gallon grow out, occupants (2 others) have been the same for the last 6 months, and he dominates the tank...

The growths sound like lymphosistis virus, it has no known cure and occasionally invades the muscle tissue as well as the fins, this could be the problem.

He definitley has lymphosistis, however, I don't believe this is his issue, I think he has swim bladder disease. I read somehwere that quick cure has had some success on lymphosisits.....

I have seen quick cure mentioned but not with any reliability.
Swim bladder disease is always a possibility, especially if it has had a sudden temp change recently. acriflavine and quinine sulfate are listed as possible treatments.

My boyu is still alive but still can't swim well and still like it have a loss of its equalibrium.... I'm on day 4 of treating 4 furanase, anyone have any suggestions? Should I try epsom salts possibly, I haven't see any fecal matter on the bottom of the tank, he has pretty much stopped eating, although I threw a small piece of shrimp in to see if he would go for it, he did mouth it and spit it out.....Any suggestions would be much appreciated....
