ID Please And Dead Arowana

As some of you might have read in my other thread... i couldn't save my arowana at the end... The hour before it died.. my sister went out with me to do some grocery shopping, there was a LFS next to us... they have the worst fish in the world and no one ever shops for fish there, all the fish are either dead, dying, diseased up or something's going on! But one lil bicher caught her eye and my eye... throat the last 24 years of my life this is the first time my sister bought me a fish! And honestly.. after being depressed losing my arowana... i really do not want him to die.. she comes into my room and ask if that lil guys okay! I just wanna get an ID on him... cuz all it said on that tank label wuz "BICHER" and that's it!

I know she wanted to get me this one that lives at my girlfriends work place which is a pet shop.. I've been staring at him for 3 months.. and she dropped by and wanted to buy it.. I know that's how much she cares.. but I didn't want it.. cuz it wuz the thought that counts.. and for as much as i respect her... i dun want the first fish she ever bought me to die anytime soon! thanx in advance

senegal bichir.
growth can be as slow as an inch per 2 months to over 3 inches per month.
they slow down ALOT once they reach 9 inches.
get to 12 inches MAX.

well.. funny you got yourself a death-proof fish after loosing your aro without knowing it..

very hardy fish, eats about anything, will mix well with almost anything that isn't to small or 2 big.. If you get more senegals they could even breed for you.. lovely fish an imo the cutest of all polys!

Polypterus senegalus.
Give him sinking foods- I used omega one sinking shrimp pellets for mine. Bits of fish fillet and shrimp are good too. I occasionally tossed him a feeder or two and he was good about taking dead food afterward. You might want to grow him out in a smaller tank first so he can find the food more easily.

Thanks for the ID guys! he's so small.. i'm gonna put him in a quaritine 5 gallon tank =) with just a small airstone for now so he can grow! Gonna bring home another one that's been sitting at the petshop that my gf works at... he's only 1 inch bigger and he's been there for months alone... thought i find him a tank mate until they grow.. they can join the big boys =) but for now! he's quarintine material!
