The Swamps of Central Jersey
These were lised as an "XL Redbelly"

From this one pic can anyone confirm these are indeed red belly? Another person in the store thought Caribe. They were very huge.

Also I want to keep 1 of these alone in a 55. Is that considered cruel? I read they can be alone but I know schooling is suggested?

Thanks

I don't see the humeral spot...any closer pics of them?
Keeping 1 in a 55 is completely fine.

Hi,

Definitively RBP.
Pygocentrus nattereri is a gregarious species. So, in my opinion, a single specimen in a small tank is insuitable.

Why don't you try a little Serrasalmus species?

Bye.

Pick up Shenloco's p. Will fit a 55 for basically forever and have a much higher chance of being outgoing compared to an rbp imo.

Its a red and i wouldnt keep it in anything smaller then a 75 ..... they can get up to 12 inches although around 10 is more common and it will need a wider width then a 12 inch 55
