May get slightly larger. Catfish grow with diminishing returns. Has he actually measured the fish? I've seen that it seems most peoples eyes are miss calibrated by about 10-30%. Mine included lol. So by what I was saying before is you get fast growth the first year with most catfish and it gets slower and slower each year. They never stop growing though. With this guy you could be talking about millimeters or less per year so essentially it has attained full size, but don't be surprised if it's an inch larger in 10 years from now. :)

Thanks for the quick responses! Don't know if he measured or not I'm selling him a fish and he wanted to throw this guy in to offset the price a bit and since I was looking for a catfish that size it seems to fit, just wanted more information on it because he didn't know anything about it.

I've owned one before they are a crazy cool catfish. :)

I don't think this is Synodontis euptera. I think it is a common hybrid sold under names like valentine syno, jaguar syno, etc., just like several of mine. In eliminating euptera, for one, look at the dorsal - wrong spotting and no extension and wrong shape: http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=121

Hybrid or euptera - has no bearing on price. At an LFS, you'd pay $15 if lucky or up to $40 for a 6"-9" fish (East coast, USA).

Here is mine
