Green Spotted Puffer. sold as freshwater fish in most pet stores. need brackish as juveniles into marine as fully adults.

need foods that will help wear down their beak/teeth ie, snails, crayfish, crabs, clams, mussell. the more varied the diet the better. get 5-6 inches, usually very aggressive and cant be kept peacefully with tankmates. you can get lucky though and get one that is more timid and will accept tank mates, but that could only be temporary as one day they could just go off and kill everything in the tank with them. i have two of them and they are by far the best, most interactive fish i have ever kept. in 5 or 6 months my one has grown like 2 inches and my other one about 1- 1 1/2 inches in the 5 or 6 months

It does take them about 2 years to grow the 1st 2", then they should grow a bit faster. Mine grew from 2-6" within 2 years.

haha right... i kind of stalk this site all day while at work killing time while im updating these computers i just browse all around it reading all kinds of threads in here, saltwater, brackish seeing if any of the threads would help me with anything. but you always have some more light to shed on these puffer threads that i didnt think or didnt know i should put in there
 
mine grew really fast then? unless they have only really grown 1 inch or so. but it seems like they got almost twice their sizes from when i first got them, maybe its just the fatness of them that made it seem like that. how big were yours when you got them and about how big were they when you had them for a year? because i swear my first one was only like 2 inches at most when i first got him/her, the second one was about 2 1/2 inches when i got him/her. now the first one i had is like 3 1/2 inches and the other one i have is probably like 3 inches. so the first one i got went through a spurt and is now bigger than the second one who was originally the bigger one.
