I picked this up as a rescue. He is 7-8" and was in a 29 gallon tank. I was told that he is a JD. It looks to me, like it's a JD/Parrot mix. Any help would be appreciated.

looks like a bonsai red texas. check out aquaticwonderland.com and look at the flowerhorn gallery and compare it to his bonsai red texas
 
Looks like somebody crossed a jd with a parrot considering the back end, whoa, that's weird........
 
that is quality great pick up would have to agree with the above the short body would suggest tex or parrot im more inclined to say parrot but is definately jd, i just picked up what i think is a parrot festae cross he is also super cool not quite as defined will put up pics if anyone interested?

Let's see the pics, it sounds cool.
 
I was thinking Parrot, mainly because of the back half, but I can definately see the short bodied Texas in it.
