i got this guy 5 days ago and he is doing well in my Discus tank...

i wanted to know what it EXACTLY is if possible??? i think it might be in the Mormyrus family but I'm not sure. i have found some pics of Mormyrus online and they look different..so i was just wondering what it was... and some basic info about them if possible..?? PICS.........

Yes, I'd say it's most likely in the Mormyrus family. I'm looking in Boulenger's Freshwater Fishes of Africa, and my best guess would be Mormyrus anchietae. It's from Angola and maxes out at about 13". Google the name and see what you get!
 
it's from the rift valley i believe.

he is 9.5".......so no one knows what it exactly is??? i guess i can name it whatever i want than!!!???

I gave you a "Genus", a "species", a "location", and a "size". All from one of the best references on african fish anywhere! I guess that's not specific enough for you?
 
You need to go to www.fishbase.org . It's newer name is Mormyrus lacerda, the Western Bottlenose mormyrid. Shows growing up to 20". Likes to school with others of it's kind. Prefers slow moving rivers and flood plains. Eats small insect larve, shrimp, and small fish. Upper Zambezi and Okovango rivers. You're welcome!
