ID PLEASE - pink firemouth??

my mate picked this guy up from a lfs a while back and was sold to him as a 'pink firemouth'.

anyone know what it's real name is?

yeah its stressed man. he doesn't really look after his fish and unfortunately i can't take it off his hands as everything i own.... would make it even more stressed

The photos are terrible, but if I had to guess I'd say A. robertsoni.

i think you may be right. possibly even something similar to the - Thorichthys sp. 'mixteco'

sorry guys i know the pics are crap but lke i said - not my tank.

he doesn't have a light so taking pics at night is out of the question and during the day it has bad reflection

The problem with the Thoricthys ID.. is the tell tail cheek spot on the lower gill plate, that are on Most thorychtys.

The photos are terrible, but if I had to guess I'd say A. robertsoni.

I would go with Modest mans Robertsoni before Thorichtys on this... Though... Like stated above.. Better pics of the fish with less strees would help allot
