ID please - short body JK?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hard to say if it's a male or a female from that pic, as the black on the dorsal is going to disappear as the fish finishes fading. It's a faded flowerhorn, but I'm not going to go as far as saying "JK" because I believe that was an older strain of its own. Let's see some more pictures, it looks like it might have a little knot on his head, so it could be a male.

Looks like a jk to me. I don't think the "black spot" in the dorsal is the normal black spot that would indicate it was a female either. I think the fish is still fading from whatever it looked like before so I can't say on the sex. You'll have to vent it. How did you get it for free and how big is it?

Hard to tell if male or female, and from that pic, it doesn't look short body. It looks like it has potential.

that fish can turn out very nice

i got it for free because the lfs had it traded in to them and they didn't want it + i go there all the time LOL.

looks short body to me... here's a couple more pics

Will not get along with that dovi for long, unless you have another tank, you should have left the JK at the pet store.

Sometines free fish should be left at the store

i agree sometimes it is best if you left them at at lfs and keep the jk and get rid of the dovi or keep the dovi and get rid of the jk

He did not ask for advice about that now did he?, He asked if it was a short body JK. Not, will it go alright with my dovii?
