"What is the best food for him and growing rate" a varied diet is best, people will give you biased answers saying one food is better than the other. Growing rate depends on the fish, I've had some that would grow 1" a month, others who stayed the same size for what seemed like months.
Indo all day, my smaller dats eat New Life Spectrum 6mm pellets like crazy, they grow extremely slowly mine less than 2in per year
