I was at walmart yesterday and I decided to look at the fish section. As usual, all the fish were mislabeled and most were dying. One tank had three pleco like fish in it; I really want to know what they are before I consider buying them.

I don't have a picture, all I can do is describe them. They looked kind of like zebra plecos but they only had three white stripes on a black body. The white stripes were thickish and ran the length of the fish in straight lines. The borders between the white and black were clearly defined. They were also covered in a lot of small spines, especially on their pectoral fins. Overall the fish were about 2.5" long.

Does this ring a bell for anyone?

Sounds about right.
