ID Please

Hi, got this rescue the other day, not sure what it is. Maybe you all know. Not even sure where it comes from, thinking new world by the looks of it . Is it a red devil with no red on it ? Its the white fish on the right with the grey patchnear dorsal. It has such a unusual shape, I know i have seen it somewhere before but never paid attention cause it didnt appeal to me, but it came free as part of the rescue so figured i should learn its name and verify what it is LOL

Looks like an Acara of some sort. Aequidens sp. (or possibly Cichlasoma) Hopefully someone can pick it.

I would say kissing gourami because of the body shape
moonlight gourami as a runner up
if it's a kisser they approach 12" when full grow
moonies approach 6"

Oops, even I didn't read that. Definitely a Gourami of some kind.

It does not mouth breath like my pink kissing gourami and it does not have a body shape like my snakeskin gourami . Thats why i wanted a ID cause it does not look like anything i have. I will go to photo bucket and blow up the image a bit bigger so we can get more detail. BRB
