I'd say the orange spanning the entire dorsal fin as well as the bits of orange on the body point it in the likely direction of juvenile male.
 
i would say male as well, lots of bright coloration.
 
omg i seen this guy at the lfs yesterday, want him so bad no room yet tho :(

Looks like a hormoned C. Borleyi (Red Fin Kandango). More than likely a male.

Really awesome fish once fully grown.

male young Borleyi ...very pretty and will get even prettier with maturity... females are silver with red fins.. no other color so definitly this is male..hope you get him..they grow big too.. i have them and they are wonderful.
 
are those fw? my female convict just died so i want to get one of these guys
its very morphologically similar to sunfish
