Looks like it came out of a breeding pond.

Odds are it's a mutt, as most of the tilapia use for aquaculture are hybrids of several different species, to optimize growth.

But it could be the red strain of Oreochromis niloticus, the Nile tilapia. Customers like the red colored fillets more than the white/grey of the wild type...
