First looks like a jd and the second looks like a jewel cichlid.

i just looked them up and i deff. agree so now will it make it in the tank with 3 other jds ...lol...hopefully it will ...its a pretty fish

As your jewel cichlid will mature his red coloration will become more vibrant.

i think the JD changes colors by its enviroment.
my old JD look like yours.

Try darker decorations.

The jewell will definately be able to hold its own with your other Jacks. The jewell is a real scrapper.
