I think it's a Geo of some kind but I'm not sure. It came with my 75 Gallon tank I got over the weekend along with a few other fish. His tail fin was nipped on by the 2 African Cichlids that were in the tank with him which I've removed and put them into another tank until I can find a home for them.

No longer Geophagus ... they are orphaned atm. One of the brasiliensis types, probably 'Geophagus' brasiliensis ...
 
Thanks for the responses guys. after looking at some pics on google image search seems like you guys are correct. thanks again, I hope I can get his tail fin healed up and looking normal. seems to be showing some signs of healing already.
