No idea what it is?! Has got features of SAE but body shape, dorsal fin position puts it off completely. Has similar zagged band, reticulated upper body, a pair of barbels etc. like an SAE.

I know it's not an SAE, as it's kind of rare. I still want to know what it is.... as it eats a hell lot of algae!!

The LFS named it as pencil tetra. But couldn't find anything with that name on google. Pencil fish gave me some other fish than what I have.

Thanks.

p.s: sorry for bad pics.

Hey... thanks for the replies. But that's not a danio for sure. The body shape is different and elongated. I know it's difficult to see that in the blurry pics.
It looks like a miniature arowana in the first half of the body with the barbels etc. (I know sounds silly... but it does with the slightly upturned face)!

Here's a sketch that might help.

LOL... I know my sketch looks like the flyingfox..... but the dorsal fin position is way behind in the mystery fish. that's what is bugging me. Also the lower half of the body is just flat white..... no colour or any kind of reticulation.

I'll try to get a better pic later.
